I strongly disagree with seperate boards for gigs and arts. But sure....
Sure we'll see how it goes for a while. Worst case scenario: everything gets merged back together again, no harm done.

here's one: banning of anyone with over 2000 posts that hasnt subscribed.
Have you been talking to my wife?

Pete has never implemented any of my suggestions in the past, e.g. that all guys on Thumped have a rating so us gals can know whether to bother wasting our time on them etc.

so he can fuck right off.

um... strip the code i've pasted below out of the pages and put it into a seperate file.

to the non-nerds around here: this is what makes thumped slow. every single page has its own stylesheet in the html.

i think that's a great idea... but it would have to work both ways... and in anyways, those things always work in reverse, people always want to be with someone badass.

there could be different categories though, as in
how likely would you be to want to ride this person again? on a scale of 1-10
and
how likely would you be to ever want to have a civilised conversation with this person again? on a scale of..etc

i mean, ahem, there are different categories along those lines, for us laydeez

what are the user notes? i've never been able to figure out how to use them.

Probably my original suggestions are down on a thread on page 45,000,000 but yeah, I suggested that ex-girlfriends be made to add a testimonial - such as 'he is a complete cunt', 'he has a 2cm dick', 'we split up because we just grew apart, but he's a great guy', 'he chucked me and I'm still in love with him' or 'he tried to have sex with my cat. He is a complete deviant, do not touch with bargepole' etc

I think it would be a service to the community. I don't care now, I'm just thinking of all the rest of you gals - cos I'm like that. Considerate.

Eh...

more following of self-righteous paths......paths which lead to...
more unfortunate ironic situations.
more pedantry.
more inaccurate use of the word ironic.

less talk about banning the last few remaining girls. If they wanna get banned, they can damn well do it themselves, and don't need no stinkin man to do it for them. Uh-huh.

oh and please design an AJH swivelly-headed smiley emoticon to embellish my last statement above.

you could do some kind of fun things with the Reputation points thing, like "most popular post of the week/month" Reputation charts or somehting

Could you implement some javascript to produce a hundreds of mouse pointers moving all over the screen so you cant find the real one?

Kind of like a movie scene in the hall of mirrors and the bad guy goes "hahahah! which ones the real me!".

Well that there css totals 5,307 bytes, or 5.18k, giving a total CSS download time of approximately 1.25 seconds over a 56k modem connection.

Add in yer standard modem hardware compression and you're looking at maybe 2,000 bytes max, or about .5 second load time per page. Do you honestly think that anyone here measures out their time in 0.5 second chunks? I certainly don't.

Having said that, i've turned on the "Store CSS Stylesheets as Files?" option so that should make a world of difference.

edit: Annnnd while i was at it I turned off the "Add No-Cache HTTP Headers" option, so you lot better get that CTRL-F5 back in action.

On a related note, in the next few days all avatars will be deleted in order to enforce a new smaller images (dimensions and file size) rule, so that should help.
