Is a Renault tragic, engine smoothe, exhaust clean smoke, gearbox will be getting replaced soon - I'm certain you've dealt with these over the year- either committing to this one be Monday or moving to next. It's quite far on in conversion which holds time value for me. Will DM you for a goo.

if anyone i know wants a Peugeot bipper that goes like a rocket but needs some love..totally diyable for someone handy.. to get through the doe, dm me.

too small for a camper conversion

I did a wee design study on those a while back, you can do a one bedroom if it's the one with the special passenger seat.

it was definitely in the 'just cos you can, doesn't mean you should' - but if it was literally only as a festivals thing it'd pass

Got my van back from the mechanic today. He says the rattling sound is either the clutch or gearbox on its last legs. It'd cost loads to take either out to investigate. He suggested I clean it up and flog it for a couple of grand but that seems a bit dishonest to me.
Im told I'd get fuck all if I traded it in at a dealership. But what exactly is "fuck all"? Zero? A few hundred?

What i meant by that is

from your cyberpostings i know what type of van you have
and they are WILDLY popular so breakers yards will have stuff, which will cost money..
and TBH a gearbox going wrong and clutch going wrong is a very different sound palette (i cooked a whole clutch once) and not really something a mechanic would confuse

so he's basially saying he couldn't be fucked.

Hmm. Possibly. He has been telling me he's overworked and had a recent heart scare too. He wouldn't take payment yesterday because his head was too wrecked. He's usually very good. So you could be right.

Ive never been able to source parts for it in a breakers, strangely enough and I've tried a lot of times. I assumed people just aren't scrapping them.
It's a kangoo, for anyone who is intrigued by all this.

Speaking of sourcing parts, I finally tracked down the correct wiper linkage only to discover it's for a left hand drive model. I'd previously bought the wrong one on ebay. So now I have two, (three if you count the one currently in the van) useless linkages for different Kangoo models.
Thinking of starting my own breakers yard specialising in this part for Kangoos.

More like Kantgoo

Any gearheads here? Engine is, making a clicking sound as it idles. When I reverse there is a slipping and juddering. Mechanic says it's probably fine for a while but given the age of it it's time to get rid.

I drove straight through a red light yesterday, right in front of a cop van. There were about a zillion lights, and luas tracks, and I wasn't really sure how to get where I was going with all the one way streets and no-right-turns, and got bamboozled and didn't even see the red light that applied to me.

The cop gave out to me a bit, with me clearly shocked and very apologetic, and then said "do you be down here much" (meaning Dublin I guess) and I was like "well no, not really" and he says "ok that's why I'm letting you off". Some relief
