And the authorities' response? Don't make any unnecessary journeys.

Fuck that.

The AA roadwatch site is down and Dublin Airport's website mentions nothing about the fact that the airport is closed.

Disruptions to bus services due to extreme weather conditions, please see below for further details.

Dublin Bus wishes to advise customers that bus services are operating from all garages. However, where there are still poor conditions in housing estates and high level areas the below curtailments are currently in place.

Dublin Bus are closely monitoring weather conditions, please check back here regularly for further updates or phone our customer service line from 08:00hrs to 18:00hrs.

its gonna be some crack monday when most people go back to work.

I love how they go on about improved driver behaviour on the one hand then won't even grit the roads on the other. I took a spin out in the car this morning. On fairly main roads. Not one had been gritted.

Dublin Bus have said they will keep services curtailed until the council grit the roads. I reckon theres a row brewing here. Dublin airport fairly got hung out to dry on the front page of the Irish Times today. Come monday, if this shit isn't sorted, there'll be uproar.
 
Oh I dunno, I don't work in town. It was ok this morning cos it was just dry snow, it looked pretty and wasn't too dangerous. Once it turns to ice i'll be dead though, i'm walking to work for the rest of the week
