Which "Ireland" is yours? The republic that was created 80 odd years ago? The "Ireland" of the Danish and Norwegian invasion periods? The prehistoric "Ireland" (well the bit of the supercontinent that broke off later on)? Which "Ireland" do you want to preserve?

Proof? Statistics? Research? What's the proportion of "white"/"non-white" crime? If it's backed up by stats what proof is there that it's a colour based issue and not linked to poverty, lack of education, etc. etc.?

One last question, what do you mean by "white"? What hard evidence is the definition based on.Obviously it's not skin colour unless you're some kind of albino supremicist group...

ireland throughout all these time periods was white. i am refering to white ireland. we have had a hard tim througout history as you have stated and we are in no way capable of taking on so many immigrants. the celtic tiger is now dead. we are still a small country and we don't need foreigners.

This is a story of a little boy name Theo, who woke up one morning and asked his mother, "Mom, what if there were no Black people in the world?" Well, his mother thought about that for a moment, and then said, "Son, follow me around today and let's just see what it would be like if there were no Black people in the world." Mom said, "Now go get dressed, and we will get started."

Theo ran to his room to put on his clothes and shoes. His mother took one look at him and said, "Theo, where are your shoes? And those clothes are all wrinkled, son. I must iron them." However, when she reached for the ironing board, it was no longer there.

You see Sarah Boone, a black woman, invented the ironing board, and Jan E. Matzelinger, a black man, invented the shoe lasting machine.

"Oh well," she said, "please go and do something to your hair." Theo ran in his room to comb his hair, but the comb was not there. You see, Walter Sammons, a black man, invented the comb.

As a matter of fact, Lee Burridge invented the typewriting machine and W. A. Lovette the advanced printing press. Theo and his mother decided just to head out to the market.

Well, when Theo opened the door, he noticed the grass was as high as he was tall. You see, John Burr, a black man, invented the lawn mower. They made their way over to the car and found that it just wouldn't go. You see, Richard Spikes, a black man, invented the automatic gearshift, and Joseph Gammel invented the supercharge system for internal combustion engines. They also noticed that the few cars that were moving were running into each other and having wrecks because there were no traffic signals. You see, Garrett A. Morgan, a black man invented the traffic light.

Well, it was getting late, so they walked to the market, got their groceries, and returned home. So, they just left the food on the counter.

By this time, Theo noticed he was getting mighty cold. Mom went to turn up the heat, and what do you know? Alice Parker, a black female, invented the heating furnace. Even in the summertime, they would have been out of luck because Frederick Jones, a black man, invented the air conditioner.

It was almost time for Theo's father to arrive home. He usually takes the bus, but there was no bus, because its precursor was the electric trolley, invented by another black man, Elbert R. Robinson.

He usually takes the elevator from his office on the 20th floor, but there was no elevator because Alexander Miles, a black man, invented the elevator.

He also usually dropped off the office mail at a near by mailbox, but it was no longer there because Philip Downing, a black man, invented the letter drop mailbox, and William Barry invented the postmarking and canceling machine.

Theo and his mother sat at the kitchen table with their heads in their hands. When the father arrived, he asked, "Why are you sitting in the dark?" Why? Because Lewis Howard Latimer, a black man, invented the filament within the light bulb.

Theo quickly learned more about what it would be like if there were no black people in the world, especially if he were ever sick and needed blood. Dr. Charles Drew, a black scientist, found a way to preserve and store blood, which led to his starting the world's first blood bank.

Well, what if a family member had to have heart surgery? This would not have been possible without Dr. Daniel Hale Williams, a black doctor, who performed the first open-heart surgery.

So, if you ever wonder, like Theo, where would we be without black people? Well, it's pretty plain to see. We would still be in the DARK!

were these blacks true african blacks? i wasn't implying that a brain which weighs less is less intelligent, i was stating differances betweeen them and us. intelligence matters most. when the whites invaded africa the blacks may have been able to run faster but still couldn't out run our bullets.

silo, let's just say we don't want to end up like britain or holland. i am in favour of everyone learning irish and studying more on the celts. that's my preferance. the ireland i want to preserve is a white ireland, not a multicultural ireland. if you are a man of intelligence you must know when cultures clash they destroy each other or the foreign one wins. christainity has been dying in ireland, now it will definately die with all the foreigners and their religions. i do not know which era is better, i live for the era we are in now and don't want it to change into a multicultural era.

I mean, seeing as our history books are dominated by the white man's racially biased take on history, it's no wonder we don't hear much about George Washington Carver, or the fact that Native Americans have been credited with developing the first federalist system on the North American continent, way before the honkies arrived.

this raises more questions than it answers. when proposing an argument, you have the responsibility, if you want it to be taken seriously, to ensure that it is internally consistent. that's a big problem here: there are so many variables in what you're saying that i end up unsure of what any of it might mean.

"everyone learning irish": would this be ancient irish? or nua-ghaeilge, as introduced in the 60s as a government policy? if it's the latter, nobody speaks it. if it's the former, surely you're just doing the bidding of the government you hate so much?

"studying more on the celts": one of a number of 'invaders' of ireland. what makes their heritage more worthy of study?

"when cultures clash they destroy eachother": irish history is the history of cultures clashing. surely you debase your own argument by saying you want to study a history of colliding cultures in order to prevent the same thing happening? isn't that obvious?

"the foreign one wins": see above. even stranger.

"christianity": the celts weren't christians! and as a side-issue, statistically, the chances of christ being white were miniscule.

"live for the era we are in now": surely this is also internally inconsistent, at the very least.

i do have a genuine curiosity about this, even just from the point of view of having an internally consistent argument.

Prehistoric Africans of the genus Homo were apparently the first hominids to make their own tools, control fire, develop the bow and arrow, and build structures.

Here's one for you: what have the Irish ever invented? Try to adhere to my (arbitrarily imposed) rules:

1. Anything from the last 800 years or so is automatically excluded! (Because it must have been the brits, really)
2. No anglicised names! (because they're not really Irish)
3. Nothing that "we would have invented anyway" counts! (because that's a fucking cop out)

And then there's the Hittites, Sumerians, Persians and Arabs with their invention of monotheism, numbers, mathematics, geometry, astrology, time measurement and all that completely unimportant stuff. And weren't the Morroccans or Barbours or whatever technically African? They're credited with bringing all that wisdom to the Iberian penninsula. But then the Spaniards are pretty dark-skinned aren't they. Where do you draw the line in the sand as to what's 'white' and what's not? (Honest question.)

i respect your questions silo. firstly i am anti chistian and anti other religions. jesus was a jew. i do like paganism but not a believer and that is a personal preferance. why the celts? that was my prefernce just the same as you might have your favourite era. we haven't got a lot of culture as it is, our culture seems to be alcohol. yes nations like ours were formed through invasions. my surname is a norman surname. these were all white invaders. vikings, celts, normans, etc. yes cultures have clashed in old ireland but i must keep refering to modern culture clashes in holland and britain. as a man of heritige such as yourself, do you want a multicutural ireland?
