I think i flagged some of this in the twitter pile on thread - Its an odd one. She made some flames at the IT and then an IT person whos got serious chops in the repeal dept struck back and now woke left twitter hates her and the establishment already hated her anyways. thats a pretty awful set of stools to fall between. it wasn't long ago she was a national hero of sorts.

I went on twitter and conveniently it was in my suggested things.

I think the accusation is tenuous, more an extrapolation than a statement. I took Doherty's tweet to be highlighting that varadkar is just leaning with the breeze for approval rather than looking at the youth as a whole, but If i'm proven wrong thats grand. Its not a good indication of where we are as consumers of information that one tweet, extrapolated is a legit policymaker for a lot of people. binary though processes and all.

I'll see if I can find it, IIRC the general jist was why is the government worrying about this silly thing when there are loads of other problems in the country

Ah I wasn't quite right, she wasn't saying why are the government worrying about this silly thing. She said they were "twisted" for being concerned with it

Part of me was hoping she'd clear up the thing or it was a misrepresentation, or she knew something and was on a best interests campaign. I still think the IT spat shouldn't be so easily transformed into 'yes but transphobe' because she's right about the property porn thing. Maybe she's got a book in the pipeline...
