PG Wodehouse (1 Viewer)

My sister used to work in PD's Woodhouse
PG Wodehouse is great. I must dig out my Jeeves and Wooster DVD.

I  PG Wodehouse. His books are great! So funny! I have the complete Jeeves & Wooster on DVD (Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie). Hilarious.

Yes they are hillarious but in a different way to the books. I think in lesser hands an adaption could have been a disaster. In my opinion, the real genius of Wodehouse is in his narrative style, which obviously can't translate to the screen. Luckily, inspired casting and excellent script writing compensates. I still much prefer the books though.

I am in complete agreement with you. The "Blandings Castle" stories are some of my faviourites. The Empress of Blandings - hahaha

I highly recommend them! Local library might be able to help you out.

Yeah, such a really nice guy, so helpful etc... and he would be amusing to be around... plus it would mean having access to Jeeves amazing (fish-nourished) brain to assist with all problem solving.

As cupid he would be a complete washout. Of course, if you wanted to be rid of someone then he's a useful sort. Introduce him to your girl... ask him to propose on your behalf and then when he's stuck engaged to her run away and leave him.

I don't think I'd want to marry him though... although it might not be too bad... lots of money and a harmless sort.

Still you'd be doing Jeeves out of a job. Although maybe he could be your buttler. Apparently he can buttle with the best of them. It's in his blood. He'd be a very good catch for you if you got Jeeves as part of the package.

That is very true. Good thinking, that man! No more worrying about polishing the silver or any of that sort of thing. I could just devote my time to being as beautiful as possible (for me) and thinking up witty things to say, as well, of course, as hosting lots of tea parties.

Then we could set Jeeves to playing cupid for you :)

Too late, I've already found someone who tolerates me

Haha! True. Been there a few times.

Anyway, we seem to have strayed off topic.

Blandings, get some of the books... think there is a blandings omnibus or two. Uncle Fred is also amazing! I think he is my favourite character. He's a total brat!
