I'm looking for a cheap mp3 jobby with about a gigatron of memory and a mic socket, has anyone got any ideas?

pretty hard to get an mp3 player with a line in socket, can only recommend trying to buy and old i river online

It's pretty easy to get them with built in mics for recording interviews and stuff, or band practice once you wrap it up in a hoody or something.

Yup. The iRiver suggestion is the best. Go for a h120 off of ebay, line in (if you want to plug in something to record, like microphones or whatever). It also has an inbuilt mic for interviews if your cheap.

I prefer the I-Rivers...main reason is that they take 1 single battery for the flash versions which means u don't have the hassle of having to charge it or if ur somewhere far afield u can just slap in a new battery when need be.
