we went out and got a new one for $2000 yesterday. our bank balance now stands at just over $1000. hopefully the insurance payout will be decent but not sure what they'll decide re:fault--someone in a huge SUV turned across our lane while we were going straight through a 4-way junction but she seemed to think we were at fault for 'coming out of nowhere'. we had sped up slightly as the light had just changed to amber as we entered the junction.
