My ma has been giving me regular updates about "the boy from Newbridge who got 9 A1s" and "the girl who wrote a book/acted on Fair City who got 8A1s and is now going to Cambridge".

She was delighted to inform me that neither of them appear to have Asperger's.

So that's a load off.

I thought Cork was 575 last year, and College of Surgeons was 575 + Interview.
Maybe I'm imagining that, though. in any case, BAH.

Yeah Cork was 575 last year but not everyone with those points got in ... ie, the 575ers had their names trun in hat and a couple were selected. So even if the points don't go up this year, which is a gamble in itself, her fate would still be decided by random selection. Bummer. I dunno, I just think it should be based on interview and grade requirements in certain subjects. But then again, everyone has a magical theory on how the Leaving should be revamped...
