Also, don't stay in Downtown LA. It's not safe after dark. Stay close to wherever your girl lives.

There's no feeling in the world like pulling a car out of LAX and onto the 405 in glorious sunshine.

The shuttle bus doesn't quite give you the same endorphin rush.

the only fucking tourists that go to LA for a week and not drive, would be staying in the Disneyland Resort and getting the monorail to the magic kingdom itself. It is impossible to get around LA without driving. There's no city centre. LA is 100sq miles of sprawling suburbs.
edit: 4083sq miles.
