I saw Brian Kennedy in Marks and Spencer the other day, singing, "Every song is a cry for ready meals".

I swear, that was funny while it was still in my head. No, really.

It was tempting, but I didn't go up to him and tell him I thought he did brilliantly in the Eurovision, and I really wanted him to win. That's true, by the way.

I'm full of surprises*, including my utterly unironic obsession with the Eurovision. I didn't mean to take Brian's entry so seriously, but he did seem more polished and more of a showman than most of the others, and when the voting started, I found myself feeling really cheated at how it was working.

Anyway, Brian Kennedy was interviewed on the day of the semi-final, and he rightly pointed out that no matter what people say, most people watch the Eurovision when it's on, even if they do so in shameful secrecy.



*By which I mean, I am the most boringest person ever.
