Be careful about getting into Cerebus. you have to hate women for a start.
also its long.... real long..... as long as any graphic novel has ever been.... ever.

Noooooo. I'm a feminist (a FEMINAZI according to one of my friends) and I like Cerebus. Jaka's story is my fave. You don't have to agree with everything Dave Sim says about women and still enjoy a great comic with fab art. His work is equally (or even more) critical of men I think.

At one point Cerebus becomes pope, and being infallible and all, declares he is married to another character and rapes her. Dave Sim's point being along the lines of "if she's married to him it isn't really rape".

That's an example of him showing a male character acting like a horrible, self-centred prick. Although...
Spoiler tag doesn't seem to work here so I'd better not say it...

I've had this arrive last week. I loved it as a kid.

It's amazing how fucked-up, violent and racist it was. And marketed at kids.
Loving it.
