Epileptic by David B.

Jimmy Corrigan: the smartest kid on earth by Chris Ware

haven't read the first one but it's supposed to be great.
Anything by chris ware is good.

street angel is pretty cool. it's a wacky little black and white with ninjas wierd humour and gore..theres also an irish astronaut called cosmic (!) i think the first couple of issues has been collected now. its not often yo see humour in comics that works (ive never read american splendour tho or any frank crumb for that matter)...

Read Channel Zero there two days ago, by a guy called Brian Wood. Very stark black and white imagery through out, the narrative is about a medica hacktivist in an America where the religous right have come to dominate, with the passing of the Clean Act, due to which, all information must first be cleared by the state. A very William Gibsonesque tale.

The Punisher - Welcome Back, Frank.

Animal Man - Animal Man, Origin Of The Species and Deus Ex Machina.

Hulk - Gray.

Superman (yes, really) - Birthright, Secret Identity.

Batman - Hush, The Long Halloween, Dark Victory, Arkham Asylum: Living Hell.

Essential Howard The Duck - Volume 1.

Spider-Man - Blue.

The Sentry.

Ultimate Fantastic Four - Volumes 1 - 3.

Planetary.

Supreme Power.

Alan Moore on Swamp Thing

Alias (not about the tv show)

The HATE series by Peter Bagge will always be my favorite comic book.

Anything else I'd recommend has already been listed here... no point in repeating them other than trying to look cool...

Hmm...I got repped for posting in this thread. The rep message said "Neilo is a sex pest, pass it on".

Charming.
I got that too. In fact, I got two rep messages with similar observations.

For the record, I joined the Dennis the Menace fan club when I was seven.

Agreed. Chris Ware is ridiculously talented. Like, humblingly. Did you see the "lost buildings" book he collaborated on?
