General Election 24th May (4 Viewers)

"i'm just back from the pictures and a bite to eat... i saw pirates of the caribbean and a load of gangsters won the election there too"

Ruairi Quinn just said that he thinks McDowell will be eliminated.

Here lads, are we watching the same programme and just updating each other on what we already know?

seamus kirk has topped the louth poll which brings me ito something if a [politician used dail stationary for campaigning purposes, is there someone i could write to complain to this about annonymously?

The Public Office Commission. Bear in mind that TDs have an allowance of Dail envelopes that they can use; the controversy in the past has been where the envelopes were used by non-TDs.

I'm actually wondering about the TV debates and whether people preferred the Bertie/Kenny one to the one between the leaders of the smaller parties, and maybe decided that they wanted to vote with the more 'grown-up' debate.

though i'm under the impression that they can't use it for canvassing purpsoes so if they say "please give my your no. 1 vote" that's be illegal i thought

I think Yates is talking shite about it being the seeds of a non FF government today.

If anything it's the beginning of the end of the PDs. Imagine PDs facing into the next election having just had 2 TDs on the opposition backbenches for 5 years.

McDowell has just conceded. Is leaving politics altogether. Possibly starting a modelling career. Says he's secretly gay.

McD lost by 390 votes. Spoiled votes 510. Just goes to show that voting, but spoiling your vote, can actually affect the result.

Also fair play to Lucinda Creighton, who has effectively knocked McD out of politics. (beaten by a girl *snigger*)
