Gear you've bought recently: (1 Viewer)

im mentally preparing myself to drop some silly money on a rediculous kit.

fuck. nice. really nice. I'm not going to ask how much that's going to cost.
well it is a lot but if you were to go into a shop and buy it or order from their website youd be paying in excess of 3 grand for a 4 piece shell pack.

they were really cool about hooking me up with an artist endorsement deal and they do you a very good price on your first kit and repair it for free. or if i ever gig in the states, theyll send me a kit to the shows.
finally playing in bands pays off..

im just so happy to be building a kit to my own exact spec..

c&c: "so mr.stereotypical, what kind of lugs would you like?"

me: "i...i...i dont know! the pretty ones?"

Might do the same next year when i get a bit of cash together, if their offer still stands of course.

You'll hav to bring that kit to galway so i can have a go. 24" kick?

haha. totally. theyve been absolute legends so far, even tracking down an older coke bottle green kit to take photos to show me!

24'' indeed. probably 24" x 20".
i played a 22" x 22" kick recently and the thing sounded amazing but it would take up half of a stage.

sweet deal.

i think ill be putting my 22'' sabian paragon ride up for sale soon.
i fuckin love it but i wana get a 22'' istanbul to complete my set. also, its pretty damn loud. think i need something a little bit thinner.

it is. looks like ill be getting made next week.
24" kick, 16" floor tom. might get a rack as well if i can afford it but i dont really use a rack. then in 6 months theyre gonna build me a snare.

almost defo going with the more refined coke bottle green acrylic.
but the real killer part of this will be that im spending an extra couple of hundred bucks on wooden rims for all the shells.
okay. so, its paid for. and im officially 'sponsored'. holy shit.
its being built as i type.
went with
24'' by 20'' kick
16" by 14" floor tom
14" by 6" snare

coke bottle green acrylic. all with wooden rims.

c&c custom drums. home to the stars. ha.

Now that you've a mans kit its time to play a mans stick. Loose those pussy 7a's :p

never! i played 5a for a few months whilst moonlighting for another band. it took me around 2 months to train my wrists to handle the extra weight and size. which probably sounds weird but im a very 'wristy' drummer. in fact, i proper sprained my wrists in the first 2 weeks of intensive rehearsals. i liked em for the rock but they dont really suit my style really. something between 7a and 5a would be ideal and ive tried a few signature sticks that would fall in that category that i like. but i found that in that instance, id go into the shop and ask for 'MR X's' sticks and they wouldnt have em. at least with 7a you get em everywhere.
