Not a great year. Here's some I liked in no particular order

The Act of Killing
Prince Avalanche
This is the End
Side Effects
Spring Breakers
The Place Beyond The Pines
Mud
The Kings of Summer
Prisoners

And some I want to see before the year's end are Blue is the Warmest Colour, Inside Lllewyn Davis, Her, Escape From Tomorrow, American Hustle and The Wolf of Wall Street

My film watching went out the window this year. Everyone please tell me what to watch.

I have neither seen nor heard of any of these. But if you say they are good I shall check them out.

I'd add Dallas Buyer's Club to that. And 12 Years A Slave.

I've seen Inside Llewyn Davis. It's a very good Coen film.

Gonna see Blue Is The Warmest Colour this week. And probably Philomena too. Anything that's likely to get a nomination really.

Some of these may have 2012 release dates on IMDB but I saw all of them in the cinema this year:

Stoker
Zero Dark Thirty
A Field in England
Blue Jasmine
Prisoners
Alpha Papa
Gravity

Because of the need for voters to remember having seen their film the really top films come out around this time every year and we only see them after christmas.

Anyway Top 10 in no particular order where

The Hunt
Amour
Blue Jasmine
Django Unchained
Jiro Dreams Of Sushi
Zero Dark Thirty
Bullhead
Bernie
A Hijacking
Sightseers

I liked A Place Beyond The Pines, Gravity and Side Effects, Upstream Colour (ish), What Richard Did and Rush but overall they were flawed

Oh yeah What Richard Did would definitely be in my top 5. Also I haven't gotten around to Blackfish yet but I hear it's really good. Still, all in all, it's been a pretty poor year.
