European and local elections 2024 (1 Viewer)

Was chattin to a mate last week who was messing with the theory that the USA christian slush fund is being applied to these emergent nigel farage/internet edgelord/tommeh robinson type parties that have all sprung up for this round of elections.

they don't like the gays, they want a more american style build the wall type model europe, they are pro lifers and talk about family values*

extra hating of the gays*

But on the other hand russia has an interest in a destablised europe but they'd be targetting the big seat markets like germany and france.. or lots of small subtle ones like ireland.

i'd heard that a local pharmacy was owned by an aontu candidate. fair play to him for sticking his election posters in the window of the business. i wonder will that gain or lose customers.
i guess if you were going for the morning after pill, it might give cause for hesitation.

Talking to old person at weekend

'i got a flyer from herman kelly, it was clearest one i got so far'

It doesn't mention nigel farage once funny enough

The computer doctor in Fairview has some opinions on stuff that I don't agree with, If I need anything done it'd make me hesitate to give him the business.

It could be a bit of both..

I think definitely a lot of US evanga-cash funding their fellow travellers in Ireland in the past decade.

His flyers say things like "Stop Zero Carbon madness". How is that clear?

It's glib one liners in the mould of trump - it doesn't last 30 seconds in reality but it suits people who don't want to think about how a 700+ seat wide coalition parliament actually functions.
There are a lot of people who don't like zero carbon ideas because they spent a years wages on some car because it looks nice on top gear and it's value will go through the floor in any real evaluation long term. I don't think they are right, but i accept that they exist and want to go full ostrich on the environment because it's easier.

They probably don't want to watch Saoirse talk for 4 minutes about realities...

oh also they are starting to bitch about commisiun na mean - which is making me think 'america' because they are trying to rollout controls on internet companies that are all american.
