Notorious for his breath-taking DJ sets, there is no doubt his set will send the Little Big Dance Tent into sheer minimal-thrill.

Two of Jamaica’s biggest artists, who shaped the sound of reggae, will come together at this year’s Picnic for what promises to be an unforgettable performance from two of dub’s greatest heroes. LEE ‘SCRATCH’ PERRY and MAX ROMEO, who collaborated on Romeo’s 70s classics “Three Blind Mice”, “Sipple Out Deh”, “I Chase the Devil” and Sipple Out Deh remix “War Ina Babylon” will be reunited again this summer on the Stradbally stage.
She’s one half of Gotye’s “Someone That I Used To Know” and 22-year old New Zealander, KIMBRA is someone you ought to get to know very well this September. The singer-songwriter released her introductory album Vows in 2011- a debut that’s promised her nothing but rave reviews and heaps of followers. With just a year on the scene she’s already collaborated with Mark Foster and A-Trak and now Picnicers will sing their hearts out with this quirky and uplifting pop performer.
If you’re looking for a fanciful indie rhythms then look no further than imaginative six piece OF MONSTERS AND MEN. The Icelandic group were unsigned until this year but after the success of their first single ‘Little Talks’ charting in over eight countries and a killer debut ‘My Head is an Animal’ , they’ll fill the Picnic with monstrously gorgeous folksongs.
BBC’s sounds of 2012 nominee, LIANNE LA HAVAS makes her freshman appearance at this year’s Picnic. Her debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough has been warming the world with its passionate and soulful spirit giving her slots on the likes of Jools Holland. Her fan-base boasts Bon Ivor and Stevie Wonder and you’re sure to join them after she melts Picnicer’s hearts with her poignant and powerful melodies.
Dublin band, THE FAT LADY SINGS will reform for an electrifying appearance this September. The rockers responsible for Irish hits such as “Arclight” will take to the stage for the first time since their last gig in Dublin’s, Vicar Street nearly 7 years ago. Their comeback at this year's Picnic will be huge, proving it's not over until Nick Kelly and the boys sing the best of Irish 80's rock at Stradbally.
Dublin singer, songwriter DAVID KITT is delighted to be returning to Stradbally this summer to play his debut album ‘The Big Romance’ in full. Fresh from touring the country revisiting his first album, Small Moments, David will be performing material from the album that, recorded and mixed in his bedroom, established him firmly on the Irish music scene back in 2000. This is sure to be yet another great appearance from Kitt and we’re very excited.
He stopped by Stradbally with his Gutter Twin, Greg Dulli in 2008 and now MARK LANEGAN will fly solo to the Picnic. It’s been 8 years since he brought out his Bubblegum album and his follow up solo project Blues Funeral is nabbing 5 stars from the likes of MOJO and The British Independent. Always an invigorating live entertainer, Mark will deliver that raw rock vitality his Irish fans love so dearly.
Hailing from Glen of the Downs, Wicklow, GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT will captivate the home crowd when they sky rocket to Stradbally this September. Torsten Kinsella, Niels Kinsella, and Lloyd Hanney made an appearance in 2010 and will return this year with new member the multi-talented, keyboard/synth maestro - Jamie Dean. The instrumentally genius quartet always manage to enthrall crowds with a god-worthy performance.
Following the January release of their critically acclaimed third album, Little Sparks, DELORENTOS, will be making a welcome return to Electric Picnic. The Dublin based group have drawn interest from all areas, not just for their music, but also for the creative way in which they launched their latest EP through their own pop up shops around the country. Since their 2005 inception, the group has gone from strength to strength and we’re absolutely delighted to be welcoming them back for what promises to be a fantastic show.

DJ Kormac will make a return to the Stradbally stage accompanied by his eleven piece orchestra, KORMACS BIG BAND. With a mix of live turntables, samplers, drums, double bass, vocals, trumpet, trombone, tuba, guitar and live visuals performing material from Kormac’s new album as well as some firm favorites, this is definitely not to be missed.
New York born musician, JEFFREY LEWIS dazed fans in a 2009 stop at Stradbally and we give him a big welcome back for 2012. One of Rough Trade’s gems, the humorous singer-songwriter/comic book extraordinaire has it all and his return is sure to be a huge hit with Picnicers.
Indie-pop mastermind, PERFUME GENIUS will embark on his first venture to the Picnic for 2012. The brain behind the mask, Mike Hadreas has been sharing the stage with musical names like Beirut and Sigur Ros and is fast gathering an adoring-fan-base since the release of his second album Put ur back N 2 It. A controversial man to say the least, he’s sure to cause a stir upon his visit to Stradbally.
They may have split in 2006 but Irish band TURN are spinning around for a hot reformation at Stradbally this September. They enjoyed three extraordinary albums during their eight year career and had their songs featured on shows such as One Tree Hill and Kyle XY. Fun, indie and Irish, their comeback won’t let you down.
Sweet, energetic and sexy, Dublin native, CATHY DAVEY is back to add some Irish charm to the Stradbally bill. If she’s not winning Meteor music awards, you’ll probally find her singing alongside Lisa Hannigan to their soothing rendition of ‘Blue Moon’. After an insatiable Picnic demonstration in 2010, she is back to win the homelands hearts once more.
They went down a treat in both 2008 and 2011 and now Kells’ locals, HAM SANDWICH will keep up the trend for 2012. Don’t miss Podge, Niamh, Darcy & Ollie belt out the best in Irish indie rock.
Belfast’s finest CASHIER NO.9 will ring out their alternative jingles at Electric Picnic 2012. They kicked off to Whelan’s Sound Of Summer fest to great acclaim and their debut ‘To The Death Of Fun’ is one of Co.Antrim’s premium indie debuts. See them go for Gold at their Stradbally performance.
Exquisitely gothic and touching soulstress, COLD SPECKS is flying in from Canada for a stormer at Stradbally. The Polaris prize nominee (real name Al Spyx) has been dubbed a “soul-doom” star and after her debut I Predict a Graceful Expulsion saw roaring reviews we give the warmest welcome to Cold Specks her for Picnic debut.
Whetting Stradbally’s musical appetites this summer is East-London indie-folk fivesome, DRY THE RIVER. Hot on the heels of their debut Shallow Bed, the gracious rockers draw inspiration from the likes of Leonard Cohen, Neil Young & Bruce Springsteen. Now the boys grace Stradbally with their own sprightly, acoustic sound we know you’re going to fall in love with.

The only entirely student-run orchestra in Ireland; TRINITY ORCHESTRA has been invited back to Stradbally after two-years of jaw-dropping concerts at The Picnic. Whether giving cutting-edge renditions of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon or clocking up 100s of thousands YouTube hits for their Daft Punk montages, this isn’t any average student Orchestra and they will be giving an anything but average show at this years Picnic.
THE KANYU TREE will be returning to the Stradbally stage after performing a sensational set last summer. Since releasing their self-penned debut album, People Street, the brothers have been run off their feet touring the country receiving rave reviews for their live performances. We’re very excited to have the Galwegian trio back for what will, no doubt, be another great performance.
Critically acclaimed folk-rock group THE RIPTIDE MOVEMENT will be making their Electric Picnic debut this summer. The Dublin based group who have won rave reviews for both their music and live performances and are not to be missed.

Monaghan soloist RYAN SHERIDAN is guaranteed to attract masses of revellers for the Picnic 2012. The charismatic guitarist has shared the stage with everyone from Taylor Swift to the Script and most recently Rodrigo y Gabriela. Always interactive with the crowd, Picnicer’s will croon along to beautiful hits such as ‘The Dreamer’ and ‘Stand Up Tall’. Allow yourself to be blown away when this expressive, home-grown talent smashes Stradbally.
Portsmouth group the CRANES will bring their signature ‘gothic minimalist’ sound to the Stradbally stage this August. Together since 1989, this is one group that are guaranteed to perform a very special set.
A Plastic Rose promise to ‘inject some much needed passion’ into your life, and we can’t wait! The Belfast/Sligo group, who will be launching their debut album ‘Camera.Shutter.Life’ in October, are already receiving fantastic reviews for both their singles and stellar live performances.
