David Bowie returns (2 Viewers)

I'm finding the title of this thread to be very Po Mo given the direction its gone.

DB would surely approve

I watched that five years doc last night and Nile Rogers talks about coming up with that riff and being slightly afraid to play to Bowie because he might laugh at it. He loved it apparently ...
Ah sure he was off all booze and drugs by then, he didn't know what the fuck he was at!

John Kelly just played this. It's quite nice. He's a great man for jazz instrumental versions of the pops hits is John

The only criticism I have of Blackstar so far is that the piano is a bit buried in the mix and I can't hear it properly. It seems to be deadly in the background there. The keys are all great throughout.

Just listening to this live version of Moonage Daydream.

Everything about this is wonderful.

Listening to Station to Station this week. So good.

Cat is in howling dipshit mode at the minute while I have Stay on loud. Got a problem with Zavid?

more stipe from last night. reckon there'd be mileage in a stipe/piano duo album of bowie tunes.

NO.

Fuck that.

I like Michael Stipe a lot but one John Lewis ad a year is already too much.

I watched "The People that Time Forgot" the sequel to "The Land that Time Forgot" yesterday. Well I watched some of it , it was shit so I gave up. The 'cavegirl' in was played by Dana Gillespie, who seems to have been quite popular at one point and is still performing.

The live version isn't bad

Pitchfork make a good argument for Changesonebowie existing in 2016:

David Bowie: Changesonebowie Album Review | Pitchfork

did anyone on here grow up with it being their go-to bowie?
I was thinking of buying this as it's the only missing 70s release from my Bowie collection.
My go-to Bowie comp when I was just getting into him was the K-Tel one - upload_2016-6-1_16-5-7.jpeg which was fantastic. I bought changestwobowie when it came out around 82 but was always sorry not to have picked up an original changesone. Great collection of songs.
