Posh, Camilla, Madonna and Kylie are popular new names for cows according to a new survey of farmers.

The National Farmers' Union study, found that rather than using traditional names, farmers are naming their herd after stars of pop, film, sports and royalty.

Beckham has replaced Buttercup, Denzel has trampled on Daisy and Madonna is more likely to moo than Marigold.

More than 60% of farmers questioned confirm they give names to their animals.

Their reasons range from simple book-keeping to sentimentality on the part of the farmer and to relax the animals.

Popular radio soap The Archers may have started the trend, as it features cows called Baby Spice and Ginger Spice as well as a pony named after Chandler in Friends, a pig called Playboy, a dog called JR and a turkey called Clint.

Ananova:_Pee-wee Herman and Jeffrey Jones charged over porn photos

Hollywood actors Paul Reubens and Jeffrey Jones have been charged in relation to allegations over underage porn photos.

It follows a year-long investigation.

Reubens was reportedly charged with one misdemeanour count of possessing materials depicting children under the age of 18 engaged in sexual conduct.

He surrendered to authorities on Friday and was released on $20,000 bail.

Jones, who played the uptight principal and comic foil to Matthew Broderick in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, was charged with hiring a 14-year-old boy to pose for sexually explicit photos.

He was also charged with misdemeanour possession of child pornography. He was freed on $20,000 bond after surrendering on Thursday.

Reubens, 50, and Jones, 56, are acquaintances and both cases stem from the same police investigation.

Reubens could face as much as a year in jail and a $2,500 fine if convicted. If Jones is convicted, he faces up to three years in prison and would have to register as a sex offender for life.

Jones' lawyer told the LA Times: "This is all about photos. There's no allegations of any touching or any improper acts with a minor."
