best cover version in history (4 Viewers)

Fiaona apple could cover me anytime. Or vice-versa, depending on whether she's into it or not.

Creedence's 'heard it through the grape vine'; 'Over the rainbow' by that auld one who sang 'we'll meet again' back in the old war days; Vera somthing. Lynn? Drake? Duckworth? I dont know.

And i quite like that cover of 'I put a spell on You' sang by somecrowd i dont know that features on the Tennants voodoo ad.

Have to concur with Buckrake - Killdozer's version of 'I am, I said'.
The Residents' Satisfaction (thanks Nglbbbth!), but not as conducive to dancing as Devo's one.

Low's covers of 'Carnival Queen' (Jandek) and 'I started a joke'.

Karate's versions of 'Strange fruit' & 'A new Jerusalem'

The Band's version of The ab-fab theme song that was written by Dylan, but possibly originally done by them anyway.

never knew 'just got paid' was a cover. that's the winner.

Will Oldham and Tortoise doing 'thunder road' (the Boss) and 'it's expected I'm gone' (Minutemen)

Slint's cover of 'Cortez the Killer' from a 1990 bootleg. Heartbreaking. "Cortezzz - What a killer"

Lou Barlow's accoustic cover of Cold As Ice (Foreigner) which was on some free cd with Select magazine about a decade ago.
