And don't they follow the ad up with that "RTE... supporting the arts" jingle? I don't know D.M. band but I doubt they qualify as arts.

There is also a government information ad featuring a selection of actors (representing a cross section of ordinary Irish citizens). The second guy sounds like Welshman impersonating an Indian who lives somewhere in Ireland.
Everyone* was complaining that it was racist getting someone to impersonate an Indian but then they had your man on Tubridy (I think) and he's a real Indian.
*Everyone being a few people on Twitter with nothing better to be doing.
I had wondered! I know a guy that records voice actors and it's unthinkable to use someone putting on an accent in place of a native speaker.
Is this her?The woman they have "We're backing brave" doing AIB ads on the radio and tv/online has the single most annoying accent I have ever heard on an Irish person. I don't know if it is a new iteration of dortspeak or what. It is slightly more mid-Atlantic, posh while trying to sound casual with a lot of the Irishness polished out of it. I hate her voice and it makes me hate AIB.
Totally agree! She sounds so earnest but compassionate in a totally corporate sort of way.The woman they have "We're backing brave" doing AIB ads on the radio and tv/online has the single most annoying accent I have ever heard on an Irish person.
