Salvador Allende (July 26, 1908 – September 11, 1973) was President of Chile from November 1970 until his removal from power and death on September 11th, 1973. (see also: CIA) He was the first democratically elected Marxist president in the world.

a limerick critique.

No, I believe a Limerick critique would be something along the lines of:

Waaaah yooo fuckin gowl i'll fuckin shuv yer puss full of a fuckin reebok classic now in a dacint moment if ooo don't grow oorself a pair o goolies!

Of course, I'd never say anything like that.

Limerick

there once was a man with a knife,
who caused his family strife,
he fondled his niece,
and gave her no peace,
and when in the mood beat his wife.

On Newsnight tonight:

------------------------------------------------------------
THE PORNOGRAPHY OF TERROR?
------------------------------------------------------------

On a day of ceremonies to mark the fifth anniversary of the 11 September
attacks, Newsnight's preparations are underway for a special edition of the
programme this evening.

With guests that include General Sir Rupert Smith, the former Deputy Allied
Commander of Nato; the novelist Martin Amis; the legendary US anchorman Dan Rather; the former CIA Director Jim Woolsey; Prince Hassan of Jordan; and the former PM of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto, we'll be devoting an extended programme to the anniversary and the war on terror the attacks spawned.

It's a huge subject, but also controversial. Over the past five years 9/11
has touched the stories we do on Newsnight almost every day. But by making programmes that replay the iconography of the attacks, is there a danger of playing into the hands of the terrorists?
