What crop are you growing this year? (1 Viewer)

I have 3-4 chainsaws depending on how you view the broken ones.
Before i got one I went through some safety course on youtube, and i've about 15 years using all types of aggressive power tools.
I wont touch any of them if I'm hungry or tired.
The only injury I got was actually during sharpening - wear the gloves for that too kids.

My main takeaway from it is the weight alone - it's about 6kg with fluids so you have to be entirely comfortable working with that much weight on your arms and still mainting control. If i could never use a petrol one again I'd be delighted, it's a horrible environment to be in all told.

i am my own man with a chainsaw in this case.
i'm not sure if you're legally allowed identify yourself though.
though i am now curious what happened above; with chainsaws, it's much better to learn from other people's mistakes than your own.
He decapitated/disfigured himself somehow, they called his mobile and it rang from his pocket.

I was thinking about having some small raised bed of herbs and maybe a few other things. I have no idea where to start, as I usually kill everything. Over the weekend I downloaded that app that identifies and diagnosis plants because I don't know half of what's already in my garden. All of them came up "warning - your plant is not healthy"...so now I have decided to try to save them all. New mission.

I have a "hardy" fushia that is like 6 feet tall and looking sad. I put down bark for decorative purposes and now I wonder if it caused it to rot. Poor thing. Any help/info would be gladly taken, garden guru.

Jaysis

A lad I knew in college cut into his thigh with a chainsaw. He made a tourniquet from his shirt to stem the blood loss and drove himself to hospital, tough bastard. Presumably he had enough sense to wear the proper gear after that

My only power tool is a hedge-trimmer, which is still fairly lethal in fairness - I'm always afraid I'm gonna slip and cut my own balls with it. Probably I should get some kind of protective cod-piece

Mushrooms, I grow mushrooms. So easy ...you can't lose as they basically take care of themselves, very low maintenance. I grow them at the base of my tree stumps. The rotting stumps give off nitrogen and the mushrooms like that and thrive.

Not sure what they are called to be honest. One are a small brownish variety probably button mushrooms, the other fairly large whiteish ones. The little ones came up on their own, the larger ones I started them myself. Got them originally from a gal and never asked her what kind they are. But they are very good indeed, probably oysters not 100% sure. I do not eat the small ones as I do not like them, but cannot stop them from growing as they have a mind of their own.

The combination of your username and remembering the mushroom farmer from that show makes me worry.

I just plant out the cheap supermarket herbs so it's low pressure, easy come easy go. Parsley is thriving at the moment, spring onions too. The coriander has bolted. It's the ones that _don't_ die that are more of a problem - oregano will spread everywhere, it'll be coming up through your path. My rosemary was just a cut sprig that grew roots in water and now it's as tall as I am and has taken over its bed.

Maybe just the time of year though? I have one that's yellow and losing its leaves already and one that looks like it'll be going strong for months yet.
