The US military gives out free hardware, jets with pilots, tanks, etc as long they get to read and vet the script, and approve the final edit. The result of this is ~all of Hollywood output is straight propaganda. Someone like Kathryn Bigelow is a fulltime military industrial complex PR operative. She might not literally be on payroll, but her contact list would be filled with those on payroll, her wages would at most be one degree of indirection from them, at most.

Murphy, to recognize Joe Biden as the president-elect and release funds to the Biden transition team through a process called ascertainment. This would mark the first formal acknowledgment from the Trump administration that Biden has in fact won the election, and would unlock access to national security tools to streamline background checks and additional funds to pay for training and incoming staff.
But nearly 48 hours after the race was called by numerous news organizations, Murphy has not yet signed off. A GSA spokesperson declined to provide a specific timeline for when ascertainment would take place, a clear signal the agency won't get ahead of the President.

Kinda annoyed that Biden and co announced victory before they had a legal lockdown on victory even though i've enjoyed the release i've seen in my American friends. The coup i was expecting hasn't quite worked out for Trump, and i think in some sense people were all rioted out after the summer of BLM.

So now, legal limbo for while till copper fast legal victory comes along - wondering how long Trumps legal efforts will keep that limbo going..

I know loads of those people, Israeli soldiers, Irish PhDs, who think like this. There's a cleanness and simplicity in their minds, things are binary. Extreme force gets results, everything else is coddling and "PC gone mad" shit.

Interestingly (to me) Republicans is a word that allows conservatives to win in Ireland.

But yeah I agree with you.

I also want a full expose on why a secretary of defense stood down (i think he did and Trump claimed that he fired him later)* - now obvs there is the rats/sinking ship factor

But also there is trump calling them and asking them about sending troops in to sort out this silly voting problem is still a legit phonecall that could have happened in my mind.

I'm going to be honest here. I have some really right wing friends (relatives and old coworkers mainly) still on facebook and I logged on for the first time in ages on Saturday night hoping to shamefully enjoy some really angry ranting and conspiracy theories and the like, because they're enjoyable to laugh at when you're not in there every day, but the usual suspects were being really quiet.
