Find one on DID electrical or whatever. Offer to pay for it and install it yourself and to give the agent the receipt for it and be paid back then.

That's adversarial. It's a precedent that landlords don't want to set.

Our grill has been broken for about 5 years now. Haven't had cheese on toast in about 5 years.

You could do a grilled cheese sandwich on the frying pan.

Just make a sandwich with the butter on the outside. Fry both sides to preferred level of crispy brown.
