The Inaugural Thumped.com Charity Football Tournament will take place on Saturday the 11th of August at the Hockey Pitches in UCD Sports Centre. Start time is 11:30am, and it’s 7-a-side, with a maximum of 2 substitutes per team. Entrance is a more than reasonable €20 per player, with all money raised going to PAWS Animal Welfare Society

About PAWS:
"PAWS is a work in progress, we started out in Feb 1997 with the intention to rehome unwanted dogs from their current homes. However, we soon realised the huge amount of abuse, neglect and abandonment of Dogs and Cats throughout the County and we started to give them shelter and Veterinary care… News spread fast and soon we were dealing with cases from Cork and Kerry to Sligo and Donegal… Since that time PAWS, has rescued, vaccinated, neutered and rehomed thousands of Dogs and Cats and as 70% of these were adults, our neutering programme has prevented millions of unwanted puppies and kittens being born and consequently dumped in ditches, dustbins and dog pounds." http://www.paws.ie
About the Charity Football Tournament
All blame credit for the Charity Football Tournament is due to Pete from RedTapeAudio, who initially suggested it on the forums a little while back and has since organised the whole thing. This is a perfect opportunity for bands, record shop staff, promoters and everyone else with an interest in the footie to get a team together and get involved in making a few quid for a worthwhile cause. And who knows – maybe it’ll become a regular event…
