Charity Football Tournament (1 Viewer)

Played in one there in UCD on the weekend.
Powerful good fun it was.

Anyone know of any coming up soon, other than the bodytonic one?

Any interest in maybe getting one organised?

Just thinking there.. we lost one game - the final - and that was on penalties. We did pretty well. I was fairly found out in the first few games - although I did set up one goal - but brought the A game in the final while I was injured. You were a rock at the back all the way through. Thuram / Cannavaro styles. Let's not forget Cian's 4 goals. Hero.
We totally should have won.


I think Thumped should definitely start running a tourno every summer or something. It's a pretty cool way to raise cash for charity.

We won the league, but lost the cup on penos - the league is our bread and butter

2. When? It's gotta be a Saturday or Sunday. Sometime in July?

3. For what charity?

4. Logistics - we need refs, bibs, photographers.

1. DCU is good. nice pitches, good size. also if you fall, there's no need for an ambulance.

2. a Saturday in July or August is good.

4. I'm sure folks here would be interested in helping - Hector, for example. and there's a few photographers on thumped that might help out. we have red bibs.. so we'd need another set maybe.


so if it's DCU, it has to be 5 a side with optional 2 subs. €15 / €20 a head.
we should see how many teams we could potentially get involved. if we got 8, that'd be sweet. top 2 from each group go through to the semis, then a glorious final.

there'd have to be a prize too - beer seemed to work pretty well. prize for the winner only, though.

all good ideas. perhaps we can pay for my leg replacement?
prize: case of beer.

I think the bigger pitches out in UCD are good.
The surface isn't ideal though.

I gotta say, that surface is a pain. I'm still in bits from that fall. it was hard and sinister. also, them pitches in dcu are reasonable in price.
