The First Fortnight festival opens on Wednesday night with Delorentos, VerseChorusVerse, Tieranniesaur & more playing The Workman’s Club for just €5.
First Fortnight, Ireland’s first mental health arts festival, kicks off tomorrow night in The Workman’s Club with the first of three Therapy Sessions gigs.
Delorentos, Mark Geary, Tieranniesaur, Pugwash and VerseChorusVerse are amongst the music acts set to play the opening night with novelist Alex Barclay set to open the festival with a short story. Tickets for the opening night gig are just €5.
Other acts set to play the festival in various venues in Temple Bar include Royseven, Cashier No9, Le Galaxie and dREA The Button Factory, Dublin, on January 14.
First Fortnight 2012 is being staged in association with See Change, Ireland’s Mental Health Stigma Reduction Partnership, using live music, spoken-word, theatre, film and visual arts to create open discussion and understanding of mental health problems and challenge stigma.
