Your work situation (9 Viewers)

People say my attitude stinks. I point out it's my feet and I reaffirm my commitment to not wearing shoes in any indoor setting.

What do you think of it?

I've been working for myself for a year now, from home.

Pros: not having to go to meetings, no commute time, working away on one thing without being disturbed/diverted, and the main thing: seeing the family a lot more

Cons: whole days where I don't go outside; lack of hombres/loneliness (when family is out and about/at school); the nature of the work, though more interesting than some jobs I've done, is conveyor-belt-like in its requirement and that's something that doesn't look like changing; no travel; doing your own taxes and other admin; and the MAIN thing: self-discipline

On the whole, I found the whole loneliness/cabin-fever thing quite hard at the start but now I don't really mind it at all. Or at least, it's better than the alternative. It helps to try and keep busy and to actually get some substantial work done each day.

I just got a surprise that my boss knew what Thumped was - and has all of Settler's albums on his phone.

A guy in work saw I was looking at thumped, he couldn't believe it was still going.

I told him fuck you man, who needs you anyway

My desk is the kitchen table. Currently being brightened up by the kids breakfast bowls. So every time i need to take a second to think, I'm reminded that I need to clean up. Swings and roundabouts.

There's a guy leaving work today so there's the traditional cake and farewell.

As per my tradition I take this opportunity to go and make some phonecalls, clean my car, nip to the shop, or anything else to get me out of socialising with my colleagues

I hate the thought of being subjected to the '/'sorry your leaving' cake so much that I will never leave this job.

Another day of dealing with some other guy's mess. A whole bunch of us regularly working late nights and weekends because this guy is shit at what he does. His replies to my many emails vary between unhelpful one word answers and bad jokes.

I need to find the energy to face the rest of the day

And work tomorrow

Because of this fool.
