your favourite albums of the noughties (2 Viewers)

Any list other than your own is obviously wrong. It's what you'd expect from an NME list, as in it's full of albums from the kind of commercial guitar bands they push and generally cover, and the acceptable faces of a couple of other prominent genres. Grand.

The first two Strokes albums are great, in my opinion.

White Blood Cells is super.

They're mostly good albums, taken on their merits.

That second Libertines one was a total dog's dinner. Pathetic album.
Interpol are kind of rubbish.
Second Arcade Fire one not great.
Johnny Cash me hole.
Rings Around the World is very patchy.
Bright Eyes is annoying. Gold is horribly produced.
That Coral album is good craic but there's not much to it.
Arctic Monkeys, vastly overpraised.
The Shins - you only need about 3 songs, delete the rest.
THe Streets - first album was interesting enough, that Grand Don't come for Free one is absolutely terrible though. Lyrically appalling.
I love the Vampire Weekend album.
Haven't heard a lot of them.

The Postal Service - Give Up

Glassjaw - Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence

Finch - Say Hello To Sunshine

The Avalanches - Since I Left You

Tv On The Radio - Dear Science

At the Drive In - Relationship Of Command

Queens Of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf

Why does everybody hate Neon Bible? It's a pretty good album. Maybe it was anticlimactic after their first album being ZOMG!!!!1ish, but I think I prefer it to the first one, more consistent.

The first time i heard the Streets record I thought it was a comedy record, and a shit one at that. My opinion has never really changed.

i have none of those nme albums and have only heard one of them (kid a). im fairly out of touch with the naughties really however off the top of my head i recall listening to these a good bit...

Richard Youngs - River Through Howling Sky
Sinead O'Connor - Theology (but only the acoustic disc)
Misantropical Painforest - Winds Saturate With Inhumane Longing
George Worrall - Action, Not Progress
Pumice - Quo
Christina Carter - Texas Working Blues (or Bastard Wing maybe)
Mayhem - Ordo Ad Chao
Joseph Hammer - Dynasty Suites
The World Turned Upside Down - Keith Rowe, Gunter Muller & Taku Sugimoto

oh i forget

who hates neon bible? apart from flux i mean. but what does he know?

I absolutely hate that band. I would find it hard to think of another band over the last decade who have annoyed me more.
Not even the Kaiser Chiefs or Kasabian annoyed me so much.
