You know you're getting old.... (1 Viewer)

I never accepted Blazin' Squad as a real band with their ten singers

You were probably more of a So solid crew fan.

So Solid Crew was a large group which has expanded from 19 initial members to 30.

There was also a sub-group of So Solid called So Solid Kids, which contained members Samantha, Skip, Frost, and Thrust. Skip and Frost hosted a 'So Solid Kids' show on Delight FM

"The Category 7 (Cat7) cable standard was ratified in 2002. It was introduced to support 10 Gigabit Ethernet over copper cabling, offering improved performance and shielding compared to earlier standards like Cat5 and Cat6."

Yesterday I was told that the hired in 100m CAT7 reels were "the most expensive thing in the room". It did have particularly good insulation and "(disassembled) Neutrik connectors. But it's expensive to hire because it's fancy and new apparently.

I'd only heard of CAT7 three years ago, but the whole industry doesn't know it's getting old.

As far as I know cat7 is a bit pointless as it's not actually part of the ethernet standard, so most people ignore it and use Cat6A or Cat 8 (or fibre). Is Cat7 used in your environment because it's easier to work with for temporary setups, or in places that need a lot of shielding, or some other reason?

Cat6A gets you up to 10gig, and Cat8 will do 40gig, but then most actual applications of 40gig networking are going to be in comms rooms and data centre and network backbones, where you might as well run with fibre & DAC cables anyway. I ran Cat6A everywhere here just in case, but I probably could have gotten away with Cat6, even for the 10gig i'm planning on putting in over the summer... Maybe i should have done a few fibre runs too...

Stadium work uses fibre mostly and then Cat6.

That days work probably used cat7 just to be sure, it is a busy area. It is a temp set up. Really I reckon the client with the clipboard liked the sound of it on paper and knew no better.

There's a distinct "leader of the gang" bit in there; "I can take you higher than a kite, every single night"

Least bad Robbie Williams song I've heard. I made it the whole way through it. Definitely better than Green Day.
Not for the first time I'm going to say Leader of The Gang is a great song.
