While packing my crap today, I came across the lost treasure and popped it in for a listen.

"The Big Problem ≠ The Solution. The Solution = Let It Be (aka The Big Problem Does Not Equal the Solution, The Solution Equals Let It Be) is the name of an album by Crispin Glover. The liner notes state that if you discover what "The Big Problem" is, then you can call (213) 464-5053 to tell Crispin Hellion Glover what you think it is. As of June 2007, the phone number has been disconnected."

ooh what's the Bill fay record like? Sounds intriguing.

fay's "time of the last persecution" is one of those re-discovered singer-songwriters (but closer to dylan, drake and cohen than today's derivatives) with a somewhat ideosyncratic style, along with albums like gary higgin's "red hash" and simon finn's "pass the distance".

this stuff isn't really my cup of tea, so i'll let someone else describe it further, but i have heard many people rave about it.

so far today:

ceremonie vaudou en haiti
ghana funeral field recording: drums of death
whitehouse: racket, asceticists
current 93: live in amsterdam 1983
nurse with wound: shipwreck radio volume 2
