Haha I was about to quote that and say "What, even MORE than he usually is???"
Tree Of Life is amazing. I liked Thin Red Line though.
zomg, it's amazing, you missed out big time. seriously one of the best films ever madeI really liked Thin Red Line and most of Tree of Life.
Was on the verge of going to Days of Heaven in the IFI a few weeks ago. Was at the door and all, when I got a phone call reminding me I had to be somewhere else. I've heard good things - is it worth a look?

unfortunately i've only ever seen it on a tv screen because i wasn't born when it came out. i really wanted to see it on the big screen when it was out but couldn't find the time. shame cos i'd say it's only bleedin' magic on the big screenDamn, I knew it! DVD won't be the same as the Big Screen I take it?
I lasted an hour. Boooooorrrrriiinnnngggg.Melancholia - equal parts boring and terrifying, always beautiful to look at. your average von trier then film i guess
the first hour was a chore but it got really intense in the second hour, i was glued to my seatI lasted an hour. Boooooorrrrriiinnnngggg.
When a movie is sold as an apocalyptic planet-smasher I expect a bit more first-hour astronomical activity than Kiefer Sutherland identifying a star. The opening sequence was nice though.the first hour was a chore but it got really intense in the second hour, i was glued to my seat
I don't.ah now here, if you have even a passing knowledge of von trier's work you should know going in that it's not going to be a conventional disaster movie. just sayin
fair enough. well he's quite controversial for making fiercely unconventional movies which veer between very boring and very disturbingI don't.
