The Beat My Heart Skipped (De Battre Mon Coeur S'est Arrete).

This was really, really good. Tight plot, brilliant acting and only slightly depressing.

Anyone who has come to a point in their life where they too are wondering whether to become a concert pianist or a hired goon will find it full of helpful advice and cautionary tales.

And the free sushi & cocktails in the IFI afterwards only sweetened the deal.

Just finished watching Santa Sangre by Alejandro Jodorowski...it was more sane than i anticipated but fantastic nevertheless. Was a bit worried in the beginning but oh no, it did work. Recommended viewing as a date movie or with parents on easter.

hahah santa sangre is great
why is that ancient gross tattoo lady so attractive!?

saw broken arrows and the constant gardener the other night.
boring and stupid, respectively

Saw Constant Gardener last night. What was all the fuss about this film?
It's pretty damn boring and very obvious.
Bad drug companies/bad governments/bad people - there's a surprise.

I saw a lot of good movies on nth generation VHS.
Like a ritual it was.

El Topo was one of them.

Nowadays there's a region free Italian DVD available.

Oh, thanks for the tip. That double disc with Holy Mountain would be deadly if it was any good...seems like the picture quality in HM is subpar (http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDReviews14/el-topo-holy-mountain.htm). Oh well, maybe i'll just wait for some better release and try to find a torrent now...

yesterday me and the mammy went to see inside man purely because clive owen is in it. the bastard wears a mask for 99% of the film. but is still el swoonio hugio. it turned out to be a pretty good film too - not too clever but not too stupid either.

then we went back to my flat and i put on the warriors and we argued the whole way through it.
