What gig did you go to last night? (1 Viewer)

I keep thinking of the YF/Idles/LCD gig and how great it was and how much fun I had. I wouldn't normally be a fan of outdoor gigs in Ireland or large gigs (generally) in Ireland because it's always messy. It ruins the experience of the live music because (as a person who is permanently in fight or flight mode in mixed company) I'm on high alert all the time.

Malahide was so clean. When I needed to sit I could sit comfortably without fear of someone stepping on me or spilling something on me. I had a good view no matter where I stood or sat. No lines at the loos and they were the cleanest I have ever seen at an outdoor gig before. There was even a gluten free food truck. Are things changing here or did I just get lucky because it was a Wednesday night gig?

I thoroughly enjoyed all the bands and could focus on the music without an internal calming monologue. I was dancing around having a blast with anxiety at all time low. It seemed people were there FOR the music for once and not for a messy session. Maybe I should expand what gigs I am actually willing to go to now or was this an anomaly? It was the best show I have been to since before COVID.

PS Dude wearing white vest in YF belongs in the Horn Thread.

Same experience for me at this gig and at Depeche Mode and YF in same venue last year

AC/DC at Wembley. My fourth time seeing them and maybe my favourite. Some of the videos online from the tour would make you think they were well past it but it really felt like they were in flying form. It might've been a different story from the seats but I had a great spot at the back of the front standing area with lots of room for jumping around and it was properly loud. There were maybe a handful of occasions in certain songs where it looked like Brian was struggling a bit but mainly it seemed like he was having a great time and apparently they are filming both Wembley shows too.

If it was a few years ago and I had less responsibilities I would definitely be trying to pick up a ticket for Sunday night because it was such a blast.

For pure sillyness you cannot beat this clip of Obscene Extreme Festival 2024 on at moment in Czech.
there seems to be a lot more people there than the usual 4,000 grinders (the arena would normally have far less people there during daylight). Last year the silly outfits, inflatables and punters going on stage (stage security are notoriously nice at OEF) were much less evident than other years. But this years it's gone OTT crazy. There is a grindcore band in there somewhere.

Didn't know you were there. I was at it,many years ago. Great fest

Car in a circle pit! Epic moment in rock history.
I WASN'T at OEF.
I don't really keep up with newer grind bands much.
I was at it in 2006, so 18 years ago. A lot of it is just a blur in the memory. I very much couldn't do it now. The day before, at least back then, they did body suspensions on the stage and dark, bloody cabaret. I missed that then, wonder if it's still done
