The Last Stand of the Orangutan - State of emergency: illegal logging, fire and palm oil in Indonesia's national parks is a UNEP rapid response assessment prepared for the 2007 UNEP Governing Council. The survival of orangutans and other rain forest wildlife in Indonesia is seriously endangered by illegal logging, forest fires including those associated with the rapid spread of oil palm plantations, illegal hunting and trade.

Re-introduction of wolves has caused a big recovery of plant species (aspens and cottonwoods) that were in serious decline, which was having the knock-on effect of bad river erosion (because the plants weren't stabilising the riverbanks) ... the reason for it (they think) is elk are now afraid to browse in exposed places like riverbanks for fear of being attacked

Egg_, you monster! We can't chuck a load of wolves into the Yangtse in the hope it'll bring back the dolphin! Why would you even suggest that?
