I've seen it pointed out that if people tried to use their second amendment right and take their small arms against the government they'd have to deal with:

a) Their water being cut off. Oh shit, didn't think of that.
b) They're waving their small arms in the air as an unmanned drone drops bombs on them.
c) Hey, in worst case scenario America could probably survive an entire city being nuked.

They have been flying predator drones since the protests started.

There was a big black spy blimp moored (?) over Baltimore for ages until it got blown away one day. Massive black thing, right there, spying, 24 hours a day. Like, have you ever seen an A-10 strafing run? That's the shit they put together in the 70s or something. How long do you think you stand up to that?

But yeah. Cut of the water. Yeah. If you cut off their anime porn for an afternoon they'd be on their knees.

The whole thing is they live in this imaginary fear world they've built for themselves. You can't change their minds, because that's their reality. I've said it before, it's not an unreasonable decision to make either. It's not surprising so many Americans end up so insane, because: it's fucking insane here.

do i recall some study that during the vietnam war, only about 10% of grunts actually fired their weapon towards the enemy? or was that hippie propaganda?

There's loads of weird stats about that war. I'd be careful about drawing any conclusions about anything in relation to that war other than no wonder the Americans couldn't fight properly because a few minutes before they started getting up to anything Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings would start playing really loud, and the VC knew shit was about to go down.

Nah. That war was a joke in general. At one point they were specifically rounding up special needs kids to fight. They had a name for them, I forget. It was some class of a Eugenics/Cannon Fodder experiment that McNamara felt was yet another slam dunk in his illustrious career of slam dunks.

This didn't go at all the way i expected

That was an interesting watch and I think he made some good points. But I'd be interested in the d his very quick dismissal of gun control measures in other countries and his talk of arsons going up.

McNamara's folly. Oops! Haha. Silly me.

The Brits: I'm going to build a funny looking building over here just to be silly. That will be my folly! Lol.

McNamara: Haha, lol! I'm going to round up mentally handicapped children and feed them into a meat grinder!

Authors. Hmm, McNamara's fun experiments with eugenics?
No.

McNamara's crimes against humanity?
No. Too clunky.

McNamara's Tiny Mixup?
Getting there!

McNamara's Folly?
Bingo.

You'd have to literally have the entire army on your side.

On another forum I still frequent that's mostly made up of Americans there's one good 'ol boy from the South who is big into guns who's comeback for this is the not especially convincing "well who's to say that the military won't also join the people against a tyrannical government,"

It's actually been interesting to see how he's moved in the past year; he would swear blind that he's not a racist despite having a long history of saying really dreadful things and displaying a shitty attitude. Voted for Trump, didn't like him but couldn't bring himself to vote for Hilary, was really mad about the taking down of statues a couple of years ago but now is at least saying that what the cops are doing is wrong and the protests are justified, can see other people's view on the confederate flag may differ from his (oh boy does he love the confederate flag. the whole southern heritage thing), believes that abortion is a lost argument, and for the first time in his life will vote for a Democrat presidential candidate. We'll see if he follows through on it.

Yeah, depends on why the're fighting against the government but assuming its the usual crap then I think the 40%+ racial minority makeup of the military might tip them towards, you know, not the racists.

If you sit down with some of those guys, and actually talk about concepts, most of them turn out to be raging militant socialists. Like, often they're racists who love guns too. But ideologically they are far left in a lot of areas.

The general form is:
they hate the Dems, because they are mealy mouthed grabby corporate cunts.
they like the Reps because they believe they will get more left alone to get on with life by those guys.

But they mainly think their area / community is horribly fucked over, exploited, and ignored. They would love some magical force (not the government, they're all bad - a special magical group who are not the gov) to invest money into local stuff to get people working, give a shit about them, offer health care, look after the opiate addiction rates, etc etc. They want to be left alone, but also want investments, help, some class of safety net, and to be given a chance to work somewhere in the area.

This guy earns six figures, or at least likes to brag that he does, he doesn't want government handouts or anyone else getting them.

Sure this is it, I think wanting to belong to a community is pretty universal, it's for that reason that companies try and fool you into thinking you're part of a big family even as they try and sell you a personalized/atomized lifestyle.

That's a consistent theme too. They do want help, they want a chance, they are often very community oriented, while they themselves naturally don't need any help, they so want poor white folk to get a leg up.

But the black folk are in it to fuck everyone else over, and are lazy. You can't give them anything, because they'll have kids.

Central Americans don't really exist. They just do the work.
