Look at the track record for good Irish comedy writers & performers... they all went to Britain to work and made some great stuff. I cant think of a single Irish-commissioned comedy show that has ever travelled beyond the Irish borders. We've got great writers and really funny people all over the shop.... unless things change, the best writers will always aim abroad to, y'know, have a career and the RTE comedy output will remain derivative, safe and below par... how great would it be if RTE suddenly brought out its own Brass Eye!
