Smoking right in the doorway and all that is not acceptable to me btw. Where I live, smokers are a lot more considerate than they used to be. Don't know what the situation is where you all are.

Like pretty much everyone, I take ideas that appeal to me and fit with who I am - and work them into my life

No fear, no shame, no envy, no meanness.
Don't complain about things you can control, do something about it.
A waste of your lifeforce to complain about things you cannot change.
Be a source of goodness and hope and strength in the lives of people you love.
Be grateful for every day, even the days when shitty things happen.

I fail at each one of these, probably every day. But I keep trying.
