Scott Walker (1 Viewer)

Walker ended up with the arty indie label 4AD, best known as the former home of the Pixies and the Cocteau Twins. "They actually wanted me to make another Tilt. I know, you look amazed and so am I, but they actually wanted it."

I wish I could have seen his face when he said this :)
For some reason I can't help thinking of Alan Partridge.

Scott's real name is Noel Engel - I don't know what 'Tilt' refers to. More crazy obliqueness methinks - maybe a nickname?

It is a work of transcendent towering majesty. It reminds you what albums can be like. It's at once extremely funny and extremely frightening. It must be heard to be believed. Go get it.

I've heard a friend's copy but want to own the physical CD and/or LP.

I should have ordered it online.

Incidentally my friend was able to walk into a record shop in Belfast on the release date, 8 May, and buy the album. None of the inconsistent bullshit we get down here. Friday before UK release for records that are crap, Friday afterwards and beyond for the ones you actually want.

Yeah, I got mine in the post a week ago. Have to admit I'm not loving at as much as I was, opening track is still great but I'm losing interest in a lot of the others: maybe it needs to be left dormant for a year or two like I did with Tilt.

Got this on vinyl in snoopers paradise today. Melting my brain all over again.

And this time around I'll be buying the album on Amazon.

That Drift fiasco was a watershed moment in my relationship with domestic record shops.

favorite lyric so far - "take that accidentally in the bollix for a start"

SDSS1416+13B (Zercon, A Flagpole Sitter):

"No more dragging this wormy anus, round on shag piles from persian thrace,
I've severed my reeking gonads, fed them to your shrunken face."
