Running? (2 Viewers)

Swimming is too much hassle. Not enough return on time invested, unless you've a pool in your back garden.

Running is cheap, easy & unavoidable. Unless it's snowing. Or absolutely pissing down.

FINE

this is the post i shall link to when we have theads popping up to asking about good back/joint specialists. At least fucking up your cod liver oil intakes, or fish oil.

I just went for a run.Just said fuck and went.Fuck the chest infection,And Y'know what..It was CLASS!

Feel great now!

Good point Ann,in my defense I always kept fit, push bike courier for years and plenty of hill walking and cycling since i packed that in.always had bogey knees since I was a kid.my mistake was going too hard too soon.started taking fish oils recently so gonna double up on the dosage and get on the glucosamine too.

I tell ya..I'm eating bananas left and right cos I have a game knee since falling down a boghole at Leechrum and they really help.

How long you at it Pete?

I'm only just getting into it.I still have to walk 50%.

Thats gonna be tough alright.I'm still a bit fucked chest wise..but I'm gonna try again in the morning.

I feel like a total dosser

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.

Reading a pretty cool book by Haruki Murakami, on this crazy business.

He talks about having a mantra to repeat on particularly long grueling runs. Anybody here have one? Not that I need one, I wouldn't run for a bus full of Special K girls...

He talks about that too. The only opponent you have to beat is yourself, the way you used to be.
He also talks about having to run with music (the Lovin Spoonful!). My brother in law reckons he needs a completely clear head, so music is out. While the sister listened to stuff like this, while training for the last marathon..

I used to run cross country competatively when I was a teenager, but alas am pathetically far from that now. Would love to get back into it. I just have no interest in running in the city, can't do it, needs to be hill running or something. Might try Devil's Dyke.
