Releasing an album (1 Viewer)

I buy stuff on bandcamp all the time. I am more likely to buy if the price is cheap with the option to pay more.

Maybe I should hit the journos again with a burnt CD in the post.

I do the same on other sites. My approach would be to set the price at 7.99 say, with the option to pay more.

No harm in sending your CD out again Anthony. Where did you get your CD done? I liked the look of your cardboard cover on the LTNT album .

Duplication Ireland did the LTNT CDs, I bought the blank covers from America and gav beatie printed them. Looks great but it ended up costing a lot.
I'm not doing CDs for Still Metal. I'll just burn up done cdrs

Duplication Ire seem pretty reasonable; I priced around a few places and theirs was the best quote for my budget, which is feck all.

we got sleeves, printable CDs and an ink stamp made for a grand total of about 50euro all in. cheap way to make something look somewhat interesting.

Do reviews count for anything anymore? I haven't really read a music review in yonks, even on the few blogs I follow I just skim the description to see if it's something I might be into and then just click through to listen

No idea. I read reviews of stuff I'm interested in usually before deciding to buy/listen; so I'll assume others do the same. I'd send stuff off anyway in the hope maybe of getting a mention or two.

I only seek out Irish record reviews to know what is being released. Unless anyone knows of a site that lists release dates of Irish releases?

For anything non-Irish, it's usually a random gander at an overly descriptive review on Pitchfork.

Target and send to bloggers. Go for blogger suitability and target them individually rather than firing out a group spam my email.

Make a video if you can - the internet is primarily a visual medium. Good videos can be very cheap if the idea is good enough.

That's excellent, thanks Pissy.

Right, here's the first fruit of my recent recording labour. This is the first thing I've put out in about 10 years. Here's a track from the forthcoming album, "You Don't Know What Love Is", due to be released in February, and which will be available on CD and download via Bandcamp.

Nice guitar sound here

Here's another tune off the album I stuck up on Youtube.
I'm hoping to have the CD out in February.
