Recommend me a wireless router, please (1 Viewer)

I have an iMac with an airport card in it but am currently using a cable modem to get on the internet.

I want to go wireless as I am thinking of getting Apple TV soon.

Can I get a Wireless dealy that I just plug in to my modem that my mac can pick up on?

The whole modem/router side of things is a mystery to me.

Any help appreciated.

I have a poxy Netgear wireless router that I got free from NTL when they set up my broadband. For all my criticisms it was easy peasy to get it set up and I haven't had any problems with it.

i am having problems listening to online radio via Real Player with the Netgear router i got from NTL.

Streaming is fine with the modem plugged directly into laptop though. Any ideas? NTL says it's a Netgear issue seeing as the problem is with their router and not the modem supplied. Got on to Netgear and they didn't really know what to do...said to contact Real.

Any ideas???

Really, what kinds of problems? Does it keep dropping out on you? Have you secured the router or is someone freeloading off it? That makes a huge difference.

The 'connection to server has timed out' when trying to connect to realplayer streams via the Netgear wireless router.

work fine if i plug modem in directly.

how can i make sure the router is secured?
