Recommend a good distortion pedal (1 Viewer)

I've one of these, started using it more. Use it with a peavy amp in rehrsals and it was like getting hit in the back of the head with a hammer everytime you put it on. Contstant feedback too. Brillo.

Took it to a gig, thru a marshall stack, awful, cranky mushy sound, no level to it all. All around bummers-vile

The one I'd really love to try out is the Fulltone Bass Drive but the XXL would be a much less expensive experiment?

Did you get it from Thomann or are they in any shops here?

got it in the UK. eric mounds wife has a bass drive, its such a nice pedal, but rather expensive alright. sure take a lend of the XXL and see what you think.

Not what I was expecting, but very cool.

Sweet chimey low/medium distorted sound that makes my original Guvnor sound kinda tubby.

Still the thirst goes on.

Any experience with any of the following?

fuzz factory is great, i've spoken about it loads of times here. a mad yoke, but actually very useable.

the ocd sounds great with bass, never used it with guitar. loads of volume out of it.

the sparkledrive is ok, a little bit pricey for what it is i think.

Which one? I have the ts9 but find it kinda boxy, not a scream in sight. I like it, but its kind of limited. Its a great mellow overdrive, but has not got that oomph

I'm not finding it boxy at. Where are you mostly setting the tone knob?

Usually around 2 o clock.
Same as my Blues Driver.
Maybe it just sounds boxy next to that beautiful pedal.

Still, I only find it useful for mellow stuff. It has no balls.

I strongly recommend anything by D*A*M, especially the Sonic Titan. It's got more volume boost than anything I've ever heard & it pushes valve amps in to the zone.

Ok lads, i need a serious balls-to-the-wall absolute sonic/aural destruction sound in a box job.
I took a look at total sonic annihilation by death by audio but unfortunately i can't find anyone that'l ship here.
Any suggestions or is this thread gonzo?

I just picked up one of these.

I'm using it on bass.
It has 2 separate distortion channels which can be used on their own or you can have both on together.

Only used it at home though a DI & into the laptop so far but it sounded pretty fucking good.
Trying it out through the 8x10 on Saturday.
Can't wait!

I borrowed one at a gig and about 20 seconds to set it up, but i thought it sounded pretty sweet with my tubescreamer... might buy one.

Only boss distortion / od pedal that's of any use, there's a really easy mod, you clip or desolder two of the diodes, and it opens out the drive and warms it up. deadly as a boost with the gain all the way down, just a teeny bit of hair
