It's hard work editing photo's. I just went through maybe 800 pics and uploaded/edited about 30 or so. There were other good ones, but jesus I just don't have the energy.

I'm really starting to think that digital photography is the worlds greatest time vampire. And I doubt I'd be so snap-happy if I used film.
Any thoughts?

Film is the worlds greatest time/money vampire 1 roll of 120 film costs about €4 (35mm is about €3 I think but you get 24-36 frames) you get 12 frames then you process the film which takes up to an hour if you have your own chemicals for b/w or your own jobo for colour if not you wait a day and pay €5 for the negs to be processed then you can either spend a full day in a darkroom making one print on paper costing around 50 cent a sheet (and you will probably use at least twenty getting one decent print so that's a tenner right there) plus dark room rental or the cost of making one yourself. Or you can scan the film which unless you spend about €600-1000 on a film scanner you have to pay for each frame to be scanned if you use a professional service like fire printers the price goes up further. Of course what's a scan without actually producing a finished print even if it's just an 8 x 10 you'll want a box of Hahnemühle archival fine art paper or else it will be faded t shit in a decade thats roughly €1 per sheet and you still have to edit the images in photoshop. So yeah you might take less photographs but It wont save you any time and it costs a fortune.

la la-whats the deal with photos of random people?dont they mind?

have you not looked at the last few hundred pages of this thread?? it's stuffed full of street candids. in HK I mostly shot randomers. then started shooting other stuff. am now starting to shoot randomers again. and if you look through flickr, you'll see there's nothing particularly new about doing it...

also why did you highlight the fact I did so? Janer and a few others do too (and they do it well)

what's to be confused about?
