PRIMAVERA SOUND 2005 PRESENTA:

SLINT (Touch & Go/ USA)

NITSA Club- SALA APOLO (Nou de la Rambla 113. Barcelona)
Sábado 5 de Marzo. 22´00 h.

Correct. They're saying that Slint play in the Nitsa Club, in the Apolo Room, on Nou de la Rambla 113 in Barcelona on Saturday March 5th at 10pm. Prices to be confirmed but it's free in if you present your ticket for Primavera Sound 2005. The rest is unimportant bumph.

Line up will be out towards the end of February, the Slint show is one of their "Presentation" nights, they usually do a few before the festival, I think it's people they want to play the festival but who can't for whatever reason. It's deadly cause they do them throughout the year and they're usually free with the ticket... last October !!! came back for a night at Nitsa, was incredible, mental packed and hardly anyone paid in. Yay.
As regards the line-up, I know they were battling it out with Benicassim for Nick Cave...

Yeah, and I think it'll be a hell of a lot better venue. Reasons being: 1. We get a sea-view (brilliant!) 2. There's more space, I found Poble E venue very bottlenecky in places. 3. Public transportation will be better with buses and trams both serving that location. 4. It gives a purpose to an otherwise redundant waste of tax payers money!

It is bloody freezing today in Barça jeez.
I aint been here long so any tips on local stuff / gigs?
got bit of an idea but would appreciate your inside info.

Not too much this month in gigs as far as i know, but i haven't checked for a while...Interpol in mid-April, and also Feist at the end, in Razz 3 which is tiny so will be lovely. Clubs though...next week Erol Alkan in Nitsa, with Riton and Campag Velocet (live! although I have a feeling this is just Erol pushing his favourite band and they might not be any good, but anything followed by Mr. Alkan is okay by me, he was stunning in Primavera last year and last summer in the club), and this week the fellas from Optimo in Glasgow are on tour, also in Nitsa (in Apolo, on Paral.lel), on Saturday I think, lots of rock in their set too, sounds like fun.

And wrafter, yeah I reckon the Forum will be cool, it's what it was always designed for, this kind of big event, and although I'll miss the Poble Espanyol setting, it had got too big for it, the main square didn't have the big gigs anymore, so the cosy atmosphere was kinda leaving anyway. And it's right near where I live. And the beach option on the way out at half seven in the morning is delightful, unlike the Font Magica, which frankly, was a little depressing, no matter how fucked you are.

Aye there is also Karate in Apolo on Feb 16th. ANd Mastodon at some point too. Rawk.

Saw Errol Alkan in Shine wee while back and he was fantastic. I shall certainly be there. Prob give optimo a go too.
Yo!
