... and you know what, I'm still not cool. Fuck this

There's a misunderstanding here... and maybe more than oneThe Chilli King said:I just don't like the implication that 'weird' bands make 'strange' music for 'weird' people because it makes them cool and obscure.
It's pretty obvious that Alex plays the type of music he does because he loves playing it. Why should that be different for anyone else with different tastes.
Here, if this is what you think you can just fuck off. I'm not a hypocrite and I never EVER praised a band that I don't like. If I posted the link to the interview here, nobody would have actually paid attention to the Pay-to-play thing (as it actually happened now that you brought this up) and I thought it was more important.Pantone247 said:About as hypocritical as telling everyone on a indie/alternative/whatever music board about the great article you were involved in wiritng about big bad pay to play gigs, but failing to mention the interview on the same site, where you slam bands and styles of music that the same people you're bragging to play, enjoy, know personally and work hard to keep going (and not for financial gain, record deals or "coolness", simply for the love of doing it).
But hey, thats just my opinion! I've no beef with anyone here

Who's better? Oasis or Blur?
Vinnie said:I am thinking Blurs music is fabulouser but Oasis is the fighting band and that is gooder in my brains.

I've always hated Chip-Ites. Whizz-Kids are where it's at.

I agree with him that a lot of the Dublin music scene is "indier than thou". Throw in some singer songwriters, and that's it. Bands that kids who like Good Charlotte (God beware, but just imagine) could enjoy are few and far between. Or in other words: Too many bands where the audience talking drowns out the music.
I think it's great how the scene works together on many occasions and is out to promote music that is not your standard pop fare, but in the end there is a tendency for the other extreme of music where indie means you cannot dislike the local heroes without falling from grace and anyone sounding remotely commercial is clearly selling out.
