My thoughts exactly.'Well that was entertaining but hardly the amazing, moving, profound fairytale/facism allegory i'd been lead to believe it was.'
A very good film. But it didn't shake me up like I was hoping it would

A quick IMDB check has just told me that he directed that can of piss film 'Mimic' although he did say this about it
Guillermo del Toro was very unhappy with the film upon its release and has spoken about his displeasure publically on numerous occasions. He described the film as "like having a beautiful daughter whose arms are chopped off."
but then again I have yet to see Apocalypto)
saw that the other day and its very dissapointing, its shot on hd which doesnt suit the film at all, seems to lose all the colour and richness of the jungle.
regarding the violence, lets put it this way, i was more shocked by the violence in pans labyrinth than i was in apocalypto.
That bit in Beverly Hills Cop where the Eddie Murphy's mate gets shot in the head at the start is very violent. Didn't like it as a kid.
the bit where murphy gets killed in robocop fucked me up as a kid.
Eddie Murphy is not in Robocop.
Devil's Backbone is MILES better.
