There's always the possibility that she might actually like the newer neater arrangement and be appreciative of the work you put in. Ah I think it should all be ok - tidying up and buying shower curtains is deadly. Building a little office for her could be dodge though - its the kind of thing that would either make me a bit uncomfortable - or possibly really grateful.
